Autumn has well and truly arrived in Central Iowa, if you need proof of that, look no further than this weekend’s line-up of events. On Friday you can check out the Fall Arts & Crafts Show at the Iowa State Fairgrounds for a chance to pursue clothing, jewelry, furniture and more. Let the fall festivities continue with Saturday’s Flannel Fest — which celebrates the season with pumpkins and baked goods — hosted by Dogpatch Urban Gardens. A more adult themed fall event also takes place on Saturday courtesy of Reclaimed Rails Brewing Company’s Oktoberfest beginning late that morning. TOP PICK: If you’re looking for something that avoids any obligatory fall theming, check out the latest album release from Central Iowa music act Extravision at xBk Live on Saturday night. In 2018, ‘Little Village’ reviewer Michael Roeder noted Extravision’s debut album, ‘Waking Up,’ has “Soaring vocals and big guitar notes create large, expansive vistas.”
